Neutral Evil Riddick

Was Riddick really evil though? From the films we don't really see him commit any acts of sadistic cruelty on his own choice, and although he is definitely more self centered, and not committed to some higher ideal, I wouldn't say he ever did anything specific (in the films/games) that could be said to be evil/sadistic acts.
